The Discord bot

Let your Discord members onto your Minecraft servers by their roles. A member runs /whitelist player:<name> once; from then on their roles decide where they may play - gain a role and they are in, lose it and they are out.

Setting up the hosted bot

Coming soon. The steps below describe how it will work.
  1. In your panel, open a server's Players tab, then Integrations (top right) and Discord.
  2. Add a rule, and choose SYW Crafty bot (hosted). Your panel registers itself with the relay the first time.
  3. Click Add the bot to a Discord server and pick your server in Discord. If the bot is already there, run /link code:<code> in your Discord server with the code your panel shows instead. Either way you need Manage Server in that Discord server.
  4. Back in the panel, choose the Discord server and the roles that let people in on this Minecraft server, and save the rule.

What the bot needs

It never reads your channels' messages.

Acting in your Discord server: off unless you want it

By default the bot only lets people in. If your Discord server exists for your Minecraft community, you can also let the panel act there - take a player's roles away or ban them from the Discord server, from their player profile. That is a switch per Discord server in the panel, and it is off until you turn it on. Whoever links the server next starts with it off again.

What it sees

To do its job, the relay passes your Discord server's member ids, usernames, roles, and the names typed into /whitelist on to your panel. It does not store them. The privacy policy has the details.
